In the 5th edition of the german wine magazin Vinum 2018, author Christian Eder writes about the autochthonous South Tyrolean grape varieties Vernatsch and Lagrein and tasted 118 wines.

The fruity Vernatsch and the powerful Lagrein show the red wine potential of the South Tyrolean wine region. Vernatsch has never been as varied as today, the bright red of the wine variety is regarded as an advantage in the times of elegant light wines. Lagrein, on the other hand, has established itself as South Tyrol’s red flagship and expanded its terroir to the South Tyrolean lowlands.

Among the 20 wines that have received 16.5 or more points are also our 2 submitted wines

  • St. Magdalener Classico Vigna Rondell 2016
  • Lagrein Riserva 2015

Both wines received 16.5 points.
