The “Glögglhügel”, a small, gentle moraine covered hill which provides
a unique location for the Vernatsch grape (Italian: schiava).
Varieties: 95% Groß-, Mitter-, and Tschaggelevernatsch and approx.
5% Lagrein

production
Vinification: stalk removal, subsequent temperature-controlled
fermenting and ten-day-contact with the must in stainless steel vats
Maturation: biological acidity reduction and ageing in large oak
barrels
Data:
- alcohol: 12.5-13% by vol.
- total acidity: 4.2-4.5 gr/l
- residual sugar: 1.5-2.5 gr/l
Characteristics:
- colour: ruby red
- smell: fruity and flowery with a scent of cherries and violets
- taste: velvety, harmonious, juicy, fresh, mild acidity, soft and supple
tannins with a soft, rounded finish
Goes well with: various starters and meat dishes, poultry, rabbit,
lamb, rich cheeseboards, “Marende” (local snacks)
Shelf life: 2-3 years
Serving temperature: 15-16°C
