Lagrein Riserva
That Lagrein can achieve international standards is largely due to its
aging in barrique barrels.
Variety: 100% Lagrein
Location: Bozner Boden/Piani di Bolzano and Gries (districts of
Bozen/Bolzano)
Canopy management: “Pergola” training system, integrated
production
Vinification: fermentation in piston-tanks at 30°C (12 days).
Gentle pushing down of the cap for optimal enhancement of colour and extract
substances.
Maturation: 12 months in barrique barrels (one third of them new).
After bottling, the wine is further aged for a couple of months

- alcohol: 13-13.5% by vol.
- total acidity: 4.6-5.0 gr/l
- residual sugar: 1.8-2.5 gr/l
Characteristics:
- colour: dark pomegranate-red
- smell: profound and complex bouquet with a rich fruity scent of
blackberries, dark bilberries, and vanilla
- taste: a full-bodied, robust, and deep wine with a lingering aftertaste of
dark fruit, intense acidity and distinct presence of tannins
Goes well with: almost any of the traditional South Tyrolean
dishes, excellent with game, dark meat, and strong cheeses
Shelf life: 5-7 years
Serving temperature: 16-18°C
